Philadelphia (PRWEB) May 15, 2015

The nation’s leading Philly-style soft pretzel chain, Philly Pretzel Factory, recently released a special Tim Tebow-inspired pretzel welcoming him to the Eagles. Now, the booming franchise is doubling down on Tebow mania by donating all of the sales from the Tebow inspired pretzel at its flagship Mayfair location to the Tim Tebow Foundation.

rn

“No one at Philly Pretzel Factory expected our pretzels honoring Tim Tebow to explode in pop culture the way it did,” said Dan DiZio, CEO and co-founder of the company.

rn

The brand decided to follow Tebow’s example and give back by donating all sales of the $1 customized pretzels at its Mayfair, Philadelphia location to a good cause.

rn

“The public’s fascination with Tim Tebow as a pro football player and celebrity helped spread news of our specialty pretzel like wildfire, so it only seemed right to donate proceeds to a cause close to his heart,” said Philly Pretzel Factory President Marty Ferrill.

rn

The Mayfair location sold 1,113 Tebow pretzels, which comes out to well over one thousand dollars for various charitable programs. The Tim Tebow Foundation covers a number of outreach initiatives, including the W15H program, which fulfills the dreams of children with life-threatening illnesses; Timmy’s Playrooms, which builds playrooms in children’s hospitals around the world and Orphan Care, which serves children who have been left homeless or abandoned across the globe.

rn

“Philly Pretzel Factory is proud to welcome Tim Tebow to our hometown team, but we’re even more thrilled to give back to those in need,” DiZio said. “We’re going to spread the love our fans have shown us across Philadelphia by giving back to The Tim Tebow Foundation, a great cause that aligns with our Philly Pretzel Factory values, as well.”

rn

As the world’s largest Philly-style bakery, Philly Pretzel Factory bakes fresh, delicious soft pretzels delivered to customers “served hot outta the oven.” Each pretzel, made from a mix of only the finest and freshest ingredients, is hand twisted daily to ensure quality and authenticity.

Pennsylvania Drug Deaths Steadily Increase to Seven Deaths Per Day

Pennsylvania Drug Deaths Steadily Increase to Seven Deaths Per Day

Drug Rehab Philadelphia comments on Philly Voice’s recent article regarding increasing drug death rates.rn

rnrn

rn

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) May 14, 2015

On May 8th, 2015 the Philly Voice reported seven people die every day from drug spurred deaths in Pennsylvania. The statistic comes from a report released by the State Corners Association, who revealed 2,489 deaths in 2014 were a direct result of drug poisoning. Drug related deaths are anticipated to keep on the rise, as last year showed a 20 percent increase over a variety of the state’s counties. The overdose health crisis is made smaller by statistics, says Gary Tennis. The Philly Voice quotes Tennis, “The details provided in the report are invaluable; they will help federal, state, and local officials better target our emergency care, prevention, intervention, and treatment services, as well as help law enforcement most effectively focus its efforts to protect our citizens.” Drug Rehab Philadelphia is an addiction treatment center in Philadelphia, but serves the entire state of Pennsylvania. The drug treatment center asserts encouraging people with untreated drug and alcohol addictions are more likely to successfully shed their dependence to addictive substances–thereby reducing the number of drug related deaths.

rn

According to the Philly Voice, 32 percent of drug deaths were heroin related. In 25 percent of deaths, opiates were recorded. The remaining drug culprits include: antihistamines, antidepressants, benzodiazepines, muscle relaxers, and antipsychotics.

rn

Drug Rehab Philadelphia asserts providing unrestricted access to heroin rehab in Pennsylvania will be the key to redressing the rampant opiate epidemic. An associate from the addiction and recovery center in Philadelphia comments, “If we want to curtail the rate of drug related deaths we need to figure out better ways to get into treatment. Introducing the idea of addiction treatment has to come before people look for help themselves, because people with substance use disorders can remain untreated for years until they even think about getting help. The problem revolving around addiction, and a major factor attributing to the number of preventable deaths is the societal stigma revolving addiction. We need to stop treating addiction as a taboo, and start regarding it has the treatable disease it is–that alone will promote understanding and treatment earlier on. Most users feel a great measure of guilt while using, but don’t feel like there are any options for them to turn to- so to stifle that pain they just keep using.”

rn

Drug Rehab Philadelphia provides its patients with the full gamut of drug counseling, in addition to addiction and recovery programs in Philadelphia. The addiction treatment center treats clients for the illnesses of withdrawal before they take hold. Their 24 hour regulated facility gives patients the tools they need to overcome the throes of addiction, while teaching them the inner mechanisms of addiction and how to prevent relapse during and after treatment. The facility provides a family orientated environment and allows patients to discover the underlying causes of addiction by working closely with addiction counselors.

Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight: Sheller, P.C. Law Firm Files National Class Action on Behalf of Pay-Per-View (PPV) Purchasers

Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight: Sheller, P.C. Law Firm Files National Class Action on Behalf of Pay-Per-View (PPV) Purchasers

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) May 07, 2015

On May 6, 2015, Sheller, P.C. filed a lawsuit in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on behalf of Pay-Per-View (PPV) viewers of the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao ”Fight of the Century” that took place in Las Vegas on May 2nd.

rn

The law firm is representing a national class and Pennsylvania subclass of PPV television viewers in the suit against Manny Pacquiao, Top Rank, Inc, Michael Koncz, Robert Arum, Todd Duboef, Mayweather Promotions, Showtime, and HBO.

rn

According to court documents, plaintiffs who paid $99 for PPV access to the fight contend they were misled by the defendants into believing they were purchasing the “Fight of the Century” between two healthy opponents but were defrauded because the fight should never have gone forward due to an intentionally undisclosed serious shoulder injury Pacquiao had suffered in the weeks prior to the fight. They also allege the fighters' promoters, Showtime and HBO, knew of Pacquiao's injuries and failed to stop or postpone the fight, opting instead to be, as stated in the complaint, "unjustly enriched to the detriment of the viewers."

rn

Among other things, plaintiffs allege the defendants’ conduct amounted to fraud and constituted a violation of various state consumer protection laws.

rn

Boxers are required to submit a "Pre-Fight Medical Questionnaire" attesting to their health and injury status to be eligible to fight. On the Pre-Fight Questionnaire included with the complaint, plaintiffs allege Pacquiao and his agents failed to disclose that he had suffered a serious rotator cuff injury in the weeks prior to the fight. In the complaint filed yesterday, plaintiffs allege that the fight should have been postponed or cancelled.

rn

Filed in the Eastern District Court of Pennsylvania, the plaintiffs demand a jury trial and seek compensation and damages.

rn

The case is PA Ed. 2:15-cv-02511-JHS.
